Odaily News: Amid market expectations that the United States and Iran will soon hold a new round of negotiations, international crude oil futures prices fell significantly at the start of the new trading week on the afternoon of the 2nd (Eastern Time). As of 19:00 Eastern Time on the 2nd, the price of light crude oil futures for September delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell to as low as $74.78 per barrel, down $5.89 from the previous trading day's settlement price, a decline of 6.96%; the price of Brent crude oil futures for October delivery on the London ICE Futures Exchange fell to as low as $81.55 per barrel, down $6.38 from the previous trading day's settlement price, a decline of 7.26%. U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on the afternoon of the 2nd that the U.S. would hold negotiations with Iran the following day.
