According to South Korea's Dong-a Ilbo, SK hynix is advancing plans to return approximately 80% of the proceeds from its stake sale in Japanese NAND flash memory vendor Kioxia to shareholders in the form of a special dividend, with the related proposal expected to be disclosed on October 28 upon the release of third-quarter earnings. The report noted that SK hynix's investment gains from this sale are projected to amount to roughly 20 trillion won, implying that the special dividend could reach 16 trillion won, more than seven times the total annual dividend of 2.1 trillion won distributed last year. Based on current outstanding shares, the special dividend per share is expected to be approximately 23,000 won, and the company is also considering whether to distribute it in installments.
