EU Plans to Evaluate Bringing DeFi Lending Under MiCA Regulation, With Lending Vaults Classification Posing Challenges

According to Cointelegraph, the European Commission is assessing whether to bring DeFi lending activities, previously outside the scope of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), under its regulatory framework. On May 20, the Commission launched a targeted consultation covering topics such as decentralized finance and crypto lending, which will conclude on September 30.
