Hong Kong Experiences Another Gold Robbery: 6 Kilograms of Gold Stolen, Valued at Approximately HK$7 Million

According to the Sing Tao Daily, another gold robbery occurred in Hong Kong. A 36-year-old man reported being attacked with a knife and injured on his hands and feet at Level 1 of Parking Lot No. 3 at Hong Kong International Airport; his backpack containing six gold bars weighing a total of 6 kg was stolen. The value of the stolen goods is estimated at approximately HK$7 million. Hong Kong police disclosed the above information on the same day. Over the past year and more, Hong Kong has witnessed multiple large-scale cash robberies involving gold or linked to gold trading: 1. In September 2025, over ten individuals broke into a goldsmith workshop located in an industrial building in Hung Hom, stealing approximately 65 kg of gold bars and gold powder valued at around HK$59 million. 2. On December 18, 2025, two employees from a Japanese company were robbed by three knife-wielding assailants near a currency exchange shop in Sheung Wan while alighting with HK$1 billion in cash (JPY 1 billion). 3. On March 20, 2026, a jewelry store on Chung On Street in Hung Hom was robbed of 73 kg of gold bars valued at approximately HK$100 million.
