Accounts with balances below $40,000 are charged a flat 10 USDC monthly; Binance is still applying for a MiCA license in the EU

Bitcoin News posted on X platform stating that Binance will close affected EU accounts on December 31, 2026. Starting November 29, remaining crypto assets in accounts will be charged a monthly fee of 0.025% of the balance or 10 USDC, whichever is higher; accounts with balances below $40,000 will be charged a flat 10 USDC per month, and if the balance is lower than the monthly fee due, Binance will collect the entire balance. Affected accounts can no longer deposit funds but can still withdraw. Binance stated that it is still applying for a MiCA license in another EU country.
